Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness says residents of Manchester will begin to see the benefits of billions of dollars in investments to improve their water supply in the coming weeks.
Speaking at the Jamaica Labour Party’s, JLP, North East Manchester workers’ awards at Holmwood Technical High on Sunday night, Dr Holness pointed to several projects earmarked for the constituency.
He said another phase of the multi-billion dollar Greater Mandeville Water Supply Project is to be commissioned.

Meanwhile, Dr Holness has defended the JLP’s standard bearer for North East Manchester, Senator Audrey Marks on her decision to distribute water tanks to her workers first.
Senator Marks’ announcement at a party event a week ago, brought criticism from her opponent, the PNP’s Valenton ‘Val’ Wint, who criticized the move as political tribalism.
But on Sunday night, Dr Holness said the People’s National Party should take a page of Marks’ book in learning how to care for party workers.
