A 21-year-old man from Marabella has been denied bail after appearing before a master in the High Court charged with the murder of a 43-year-old mother of two.

Jayden “Carter” Carter, a labourer from Theresa Street, was charged in connection with the stabbing death of Ikeisha “Freeda” Wildman, a fellow resident who lived nearby in an area known as The Line.

Police said Carter, together with other people, is alleged to have stormed into Wildman’s home on the night of October 10, where she was stabbed and collapsed on the ground. The attackers then fled the scene.

Wildman was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

After a review of the case file by acting Director of Public Prosecutions Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal, police were advised to lay a charge of murder against Carter on October 14.

On October 15, Carter appeared before master Delicia Bethelmy at the South Court D. She denied him bail and ordered that he be remanded into police custody.

A status hearing has been scheduled for February 26, 2026, with a sufficiency hearing set for June 15, 2026.

The charge was laid by PC Bhola after investigations led by Supt Persad, ASP Maharaj, and Sgt Bridgemohan of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three.

Police say investigations into the case are ongoing.
