Marriage Officers Given Until July 31 to Reapply

The Attorney General’s Ministry has extended the deadline for all existing Marriage Officers to apply for reappointment.  In a public notice issued on July 1, the ministry says Marriage Officers now have until Thursday, July 31 to submit their applications. The ministry is encouraging Ministers of Religion and Senior Justices of the Peace who currently perform marriages to complete the process before the deadline. The exercise will see the reappointed officers issued a new license number.  Those officers who miss the new deadline will be required to pay a late application fee of fifty dollars.  Application forms are available through the Attorney General’s Ministry website or at its office on Raccoon Avenue in Belmopan. This extension follows an earlier notice issued on June 15.
