Masicka is proving that lyrical warfare won’t distract him from the bigger picture. Even as his feud with Tommy Lee Sparta commands attention across dancehall circles, the “Whites” hitmaker surprised fans on Monday night with the announcement of his upcoming EP, Her Name Is Love. The project, set for release on 19 December via Def Jam Recordings, signals yet another major stride in the Portmore native’s evolving global agenda.

According to an update shared by one of his leading Instagram accounts, the EP’s striking cover art was revealed with the caption: “Masicka’s New EP ‘Her Name Is Love’ is scheduled to be released December 19, 2025.” The announcement immediately ignited excitement online—especially as the project follows the success of Generation of Kings, his 2023 full-length effort that debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. It also extends a steady run that includes his critically acclaimed 2021 album 438, which likewise premiered at No. 2, and the earlier Start From The Grung (2018).

Her Name Is Love is billed as a celebration of women, desire and relationships—an intimate creative detour that still leans into Masicka’s sharp lyricism. The EP’s lead single, “Keys,” has already laid strong groundwork, surpassing one million streams on Spotify. Its momentum has positioned the upcoming project as one of December’s most anticipated releases within Caribbean music.

Meanwhile, Masicka’s broader career continues to chart new milestones. Earlier this year, he secured his YouTube Creator Award after surpassing one million subscribers and racking up more than 580 million views—solidifying his status among Jamaica’s most digitally dominant acts. His album 438 was crowned Jamaica’s top album on Spotify in 2022 and made history as the first Jamaican project to remain in the Top 10 on Apple Music Jamaica for an entire year. He also stood out in Spotify Wrapped Jamaica’s Top 10 Albums, one of only three local artists to make the list.

The accolades keep coming. At the upcoming 2025 African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA), Masicka is nominated for Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist, People’s Choice, and Best Collaboration for the cross-continental hit “Fight For Us” featuring Nigerian singer Fave. Voting closes on 15 December, with winners announced the following day—just hours before Her Name Is Love arrives.

With a new EP on the horizon, major award nominations, and an active presence in dancehall’s current lyrical conversations, Masicka is closing 2025 with decisive momentum—setting the stage for an even bigger year ahead.
