Masked Burglars Steal $8,000 From Blackman Eddy Retiree

Police are investigating an aggravated burglary in Blackman Eddy Village, Cayo District, during which four masked men reportedly stole eight thousand dollars from a sixty-five-year-old retiree.  Roy Alexander Orellano told police he was asleep at around twelve-thirty this morning when the men forced their way into his home. Three were reportedly dressed entirely in black, while the fourth wore white clothing and carried what appeared to be a nine-millimeter pistol.  The intruders allegedly removed Orellano from his bed and searched the house, finding eight thousand dollars hidden beneath the bed. They then demanded additional money and claimed they had been told by one of his relatives that cash was being kept inside the home.  Police say two of the men attempted to punch Orellano, but he was not struck. He managed to distract the intruders and escape to a neighbour’s house, where he called for help.  Orellano reportedly saw the men jump over his fence and flee in a blue Nissan Rogue.
