Police are investigating an early morning home invasion at Marla’s House of Hope, a children’s home in the City of Belmopan. Just before six o’clock police officers responded to the multiple reports of intruders entering the facility. According to 39-year-old caregiver, Alva Bol, the incident began unfolding at around five thirty when two masked men gained entry to the building. She reported that one of the intruders grabbed her, warned her to remain silent, and demanded to know the whereabouts of the other caregiver. Both suspects, believed to be of Hispanic descent and armed with handguns, then forced Bol to wake her colleague, 56-year-old Vincent White. The armed men ordered White to show them all the rooms where the children were sleeping. During the terrifying ordeal, the suspects reportedly asked for a woman named Dalia Dulcia but left after being told no such person was on the premises. The intruders fled the scene shortly thereafter, and Bol promptly contacted the police. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all the children were confirmed safe. Police are actively investigating the incident and working to identify and apprehend the suspects.
