Captain of the West Indies women, Hayley Matthews, says the entire team feels disappointed by their 10-wicket loss against South Africa in their opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup.

Batting first, the Windies made 118 for 6 off their 20 overs.

Stafanie Taylor 44 not out was the only batter to put up any resistance against Nonku-luleko Mlaba, 4 for 29, and Marizanne Kapp, 2 for 14.

In reply, South Africa made 119 without loss. South Africa reached the target with 13-balls to spare.

Matthews says the team played below par with both bat and ball.

She admits conditions in Dubai was extremely hot. However, she says that no excuse for their poor performance.
