Matthews: T20 series will serve as tune-up for World Cup

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada (CMC): West Indies Women’s captain Hayley Matthews is viewing their three-match T2oI series against Sri Lanka Women as vital preparation for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup. The regional team will look to rebound from their 2-1 series loss in the just concluded One Day International Series when they take on the visitors in the opener today at the National Cricket Stadium. It will be Matthews’ first time leading the team in over a year, having last played a T20 international on January 29, 2025, when they took on Bangladesh Women in St Kitts.
