Mayor of Mandeville, Donovan Mitchell, has moved to dismiss claims that he has yet to submit estimates for the cost of repairs to the Mandeville market.

Speaking at the People’s National Party’s, PNP, KnockPatrick divisional conference in Manchester on Sunday, Mayor Mitchell called out member of parliament for Central Manchester, Rhoda Moy Crawford.

Recently, Mayor Mitchell criticised the government for its plan to build a new park for the town of Mandeville. He said the money should instead be used to renovate the Mandeville market.

Mayor Mitchell says plans to renovate the market were shelved after the PNP lost the 2016 general elections.

On Sunday, Mayor Mitchell noted that he has submitted more than 10 estimates and the municipality has still not received any funds towards the upgrade.

Meanwhile, Mayor Mitchell says the Mandeville market will be transformed under the leadership of the PNP.
