McLeod faces two-year ban

Jamaica’s most successful sprint hurdler, Olympic and World champion Omar McLeod, is facing a potential two-year ban from the sport following a whereabouts anti-doping rule violation. McLeod, who won gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2017 World Championships and the 2016 World Indoor Championships, missed one test and recorded two filing failures within a 12-month period between 2025 and 2026, according to reliable Gleaner sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. The missed test is understood to have occurred in Europe, where McLeod had been training.
