Garvin Medera has returned to Digicel as Chief Executive Officer for the Atlantic Region, just weeks after resigning from Caribbean Airlines, where he served as the longest-serving CEO in the carrier’s history.
Medera stepped down from CAL in October after eight years at the helm.
Digicel said his appointment marks a significant step in its ongoing transformation. Medera began his career with the company, helping to build its early telecoms and fibre networks. The group said his return reflects a focus on strengthening regional expertise and improving service and reliability.
His most recent tenure at CAL was highlighted by operational profitability, digital upgrades and a renewed customer focus. Digicel said his leadership approach, which balances performance with purpose, aligns with its ambition to elevate customer experience across its markets.
Medera also previously chaired the Digicel Foundation in Trinidad and Tobago, supporting projects in education, inclusion and opportunity.
Group CEO Marcelo Cataldo described his return as “a powerful signal of our future,” while Chief People Officer Terry Arnold said he represents the blend of regional depth and global experience needed for the company’s next chapter.
Medera said the move feels “meaningful and motivating,” adding, “This is where I first learned the true weight of connecting people, not just through technology, but through service.”
