Message Reggae is Back with ‘Love Potion Riddim’ by Uplift

Jamaican-Canadian recording artiste and producer Uplift is making a return to his reggae roots with the release of the Love Potion Riddim, a multi-artist project centered on love, positivity, and authentic reggae music. The production reflects his desire to create music with substance while reconnecting with the genre that first inspired his career. 

The riddim features reggae singer Hezron alongside Nigerian recording artiste Pupa Tee, blending traditional Jamaican reggae with African musical influences. Uplift said the project came together after months of inspiration and was ultimately recorded during a single, highly creative studio session. 

In addition to producing the project, Uplift also contributes a song of his own, a love track he wrote more than 25 years ago but never expected to record. He said Love Potion Riddim finally provided the perfect home for the long-shelved composition. 

Having spent years living in Canada, Uplift credits the country’s multicultural environment with broadening his musical perspective while strengthening his appreciation for Jamaica’s reggae heritage. He also said his travels in Nigeria influenced the project’s cross-cultural sound and reinforced his belief in reggae’s universal appeal. 

Inspired by influential Jamaican musicians and producers, including Arif Cooper and Jah Cure, Uplift hopes Love Potion Riddim will help reaffirm reggae’s enduring message of love, unity, and hope.

“Reggae is my love language,” Uplift said, adding that his goal is to continue spreading positivity through music that resonates across cultures.
