Boxing legend Mike Tyson has revealed that he helped Sean “Diddy” Combs deliver a letter to President Donald Trump as the incarcerated music mogul continues his efforts to secure a presidential pardon.
During a recent appearance on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show Radio Andy, Tyson opened up about his relationship with Diddy and confirmed that the Bad Boy Records founder personally reached out to him from prison.
“Yeah, I’m friendly with Puff,” Tyson told Cohen, admitting that he was surprised by the lengths authorities went to prosecute the music executive.
Tyson also questioned the use of the Mann Act, a federal law dating back to 1910, in Diddy’s prosecution.
When Cohen asked whether he had spoken with Diddy since his incarceration, Tyson confirmed that the two had communicated by phone.
“Well, I spoke with him once on the phone, yes,” Tyson explained. “He wanted me to give a letter to the president.”
Cohen followed up by asking whether Tyson actually delivered the letter to Trump.
“I did what he told me to do, yes,” Tyson responded.
The revelation adds another chapter to Diddy’s ongoing attempts to obtain presidential clemency.
Trump previously acknowledged receiving a handwritten letter from Combs requesting a pardon. However, the president has also suggested that granting clemency could be difficult, pointing to Diddy’s past public criticism of him during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Combs is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence following his conviction on prostitution-related transportation charges. His reported release date is March 8, 2028, although that date remains subject to change.
