Minister Aubyn Hill Defends Gov’t’s Record in Investment

Industry, investment and commerce minister, Senator Aubyn Hill, says the business of investment will not always produce results in the immediate term.

He made the comment following recent criticisms from the People’s National Party that Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street concert contributed more to the economy than he has done in his nine years leading the ministry.

The Caymanas Special Economic Zone in St. Catherine is envisioned as a major industrial and logistics hub.

The project forms part of the government’s economic strategy to attract warehousing, manufacturing and cold storage operations.

Minister Hill says now is the time to move beyond the simplicity of trading and attract investors.
