Ministry clarifies TD4 collection process for teachers

The Ministry of Education has clarified the procedure for the collection and distribution of TD4 tax slips following complaints from teachers that they have been unable to access the documents needed to file taxes and claim annuities.

Teachers told Guardian Media that the Ministry of Education had not provided them with TD4 slips and that when they attempted to collect them from paysheets staff, they were reportedly told that school supervisors would collect and distribute the documents when they had the time.

In a statement, the ministry said TD4 slips are prepared centrally and forwarded to the respective District Education Offices.

It said school principals and administrators are required to collect the documents from their designated District Office and ensure their distribution to staff in a timely manner through the appropriate supervisory channels.

The ministry added that teachers who continue to experience difficulties obtaining their TD4 slips are encouraged to contact their respective District Education Offices for clarification and assistance.
