Ministry of Agriculture Prepares Farmers for 2026/2027 Vegetable Season

The Ministry of Agriculture is looking back at the last vegetable season while preparing farmers for the new 2026/2027 season. The ministry recently brought together vegetable farmers and other stakeholders for its annual National Vegetable Stakeholders Meeting. The discussion focused on how the 2025/2026 season went, the challenges farmers faced, and what can be done to improve production moving forward. As the new season gets underway, the ministry says it will continue working with farmers through extension services, technical support, and assistance with marketing to help ensure local vegetables remain available for consumers. Officials say proper planning helps farmers match production with market demand and avoid situations where there is either too much or too little supply. The ministry says the goal is to build a more organised vegetable sector while supporting farmers and strengthening Belize’s food supply,
