The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing is tonight issuing a public notice aimed at clearing the way for a major infrastructure project in Belize City. In a statement dated today, the Ministry is calling on car dealers, taxi operators, vehicle owners, and all individuals currently utilizing sections of the road reserve near the Belcan Bridge to remove their vehicles and any materials from the area. The directive specifically applies to portions of Central American Boulevard in front of Save U Supermarket and the Hope Center, as well as areas along the Philip Goldson Highway adjacent to Comex Paint. Authorities say the clearance is necessary to facilitate the upcoming reconstruction of the Belcan Bridge. According to the Ministry, all vehicles, equipment, structures, and other materials must be removed no later than May 7. Officials stress that the move is critical to ensure the safe and efficient start of construction works, provide unobstructed access for contractors and heavy machinery, and safeguard the general public during the execution of the project.
