Minor Parties Nominate Candidates Ahead of General Elections

The Jamaica Progressive Party’s Karlene Afflick says she is confident of victory in West St. Thomas in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Afflick is expected to battle the PNP’s Hubert Williams and the JLP’s James Robertson.

Speaking with journalists, Afflick says the JLP is big on promises but short on achievements.

Afflick says water problems are on a long list of woes facing constituents of West St. Thomas.

The United Independents’ Congress, UIC, will field Chase Neil in the constituency of West St Mary.

Neil was nominated at 10:05AM at the Nomination Center in Gayle, where he turned in his documents and paid the fee.

Chase Neil is 40 years old and hails from Geddes Town, Free Hill in St Mary.

He is a teacher and natural health consultant.

The JLP’s Robert Montague and the PNP’s Omar Woodbine are also expected to be nominated in the constituency today.
