Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, Dr Gabrielle Henry, is expected to return home in the coming days as she continues to make significant progress in her recovery following last month’s frightening fall at the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand. The Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation confirmed the update in a release, noting that the 28-year-old medical doctor has been responding well to treatment and is now preparing for discharge.

The reassuring news follows weeks of concern after Dr Henry suffered head trauma and lacerations during the evening gown segment of the live competition, prompting her immediate withdrawal from the pageant. She was admitted to the ICU for close monitoring, where teams of specialists conducted extensive evaluations to manage her injuries. Throughout the ordeal, she remained surrounded by family support, including her sister, Dr Phylicia Henry-Samuels, and their mother, Maureen Henry, who travelled to Thailand to be by her side.

Dr Henry has maintained a positive spirit throughout her recovery, sharing her gratitude with fans and well-wishers worldwide. “I’m eagerly looking forward to my return home and to seeing everyone in the near future,” she said, expressing optimism as she prepares for the next phase of healing. The Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation also praised the swift intervention of the Miss Universe leadership team, highlighting the efforts of Raúl Rocha Cantú, Mario Bucaro, and Maria José Unda, who provided hands-on assistance from the moment the incident occurred.

Additional thanks were extended to Thailand’s Honorary Jamaican Consul, Ms Vradda Rutnin; former Miss Universe Jamaica contestants Aisha and Emily Hall; and international photographer Ricardo St Cyr, who have all supported Dr Henry during her recovery. With Jamaica and the global pageant community rallying behind her, anticipation now builds for her return home—where she is expected to continue rehabilitation privately as she regains strength.
