With two of the five Miss Universe Jamaica regional coronation shows completed – Miss Universe Jamaica East and Northeast – Miss Universe Jamaica West is up next, and set to crown their next queen on Sunday, April 27, at Hotel Commingle in Westmoreland.

The Gleaner caught up with Hannah Sheree, regional manager and pageant director for Miss Universe Jamaica West, who spoke of the finalists for Sunday’s show. Sheree shared that what began with 12 “beautifully confident” contestants is now down to 11 young women representing the parishes of Westmoreland, St Elizabeth, and St James.

“The coronation show is in high anticipation and promises to be a very spectacular poolside event. The ladies began grooming, walk training, and personal development in March. What I’ve witnessed is not just growth, it’s transformation. They’ve formed an admirable sisterhood and have worked really hard in preparation for the finals. It has been a fulfilling, transformational journey, and I’m extremely proud of how far they’ve come individually and collectively,” Sheree said.

This year, Miss Universe Jamaica West 2025 is embracing the theme ‘There is Greatness in You’, a message that’s striking a chord with contestants and organisers alike.

Sheree added that: “This theme is a way of encouraging the contestants to unlock their true potential, understanding that pageantry is not just about outer beauty but mental transformation and personal development”.

Hotel Commingle has played an essential role in this year’s journey, not just as the host venue, but also as the welcoming home for training sessions, the sashing showcase held on March 22, and, now, the grand coronation show.

“I would like to thank Mrs Jennifer Khan-Allen and her incredible team at the Hotel Commingle for opening up their doors to us wholeheartedly. I would also like to express my gratitude to Elite Concepts and Solutions, Kenny’s Italian Cafe and Ro Ro Designz for being an integral part of [Miss Universe Jamaica West 2025,” Sheree said.

The coronation show will feature a very special performance by the Pyro Fanatics – a collective of talented pro artists including contortionists, fire dancers, and so much more.

MISS UNIVERSE JAMAICA CENTRAL

As for the central region, a new queen will be crowned on Saturday, April 26, when the Miss Universe Jamaica Central competition takes place at the Golf View Hotel in Mandeville.

Trilissa Walker, regional manager for Miss Universe Jamaica Central, expressed excitement about this year’s event and is encouraging everyone to come out and witness the moment.

“We’re back at the Golf View Hotel, and it’s going to be even bigger than it was last year. It starts with a cocktail reception, which gets started at 6 p.m. It ends at 7, then we give our attention to 12 amazing young ladies vying for the crown. We’re actually having a special performance from the Glenmuir High School. Our reigning queen actually mentored the contestants from the Miss Glenmuir pageant, so we’re proud of that because a couple of young ladies are from Glenmuir. So, come out and support our Jamaican queens,” she said.

The winner of Miss Universe Jamaica East 2025 is Troy-Ann Anderson, a performer and mentor, while Miss Universe Jamaica Northeast 2025 crowned its queen, Dreanna Williams, a quantity surveying student at the University of Technology.
