Mayor of Montego Bay, Richard Vernon insists there’s nothing political behind the decision to remove political signs posted across the municipality.
Earlier this week, the opposition People’s National Party called on Mayor Vernon to cease and desist from removing the party’s advertising boards in the city.
PNP general secretary, Dr. Dayton Campbell, claims the removal of the campaign material is unlawful.
But speaking on Nationwide at Five on Thursday, Mayor Vernon says he acted lawfully.
Mayor Vernon notes that the corporation received legal advice on the matter.
