MOCA Makes Another Arrest in Phishing Scam Crackdown

The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency, MOCA, has made another arrest in connection with the ongoing investigation into a multi-million dollar phishing scam at the National Commercial Bank, NCB.

The individual arrested is a female from Clarendon Park in Clarendon. She was arrested during a targeted operation on Thursday.

The woman’s residence was searched and evidentiary items were seized.

It’s alleged more than $47 million were phished from 16 accounts held at NCB by members of an organised crime syndicate.

The funds were then transferred to several beneficiaries’ accounts who then withdrew them or transferred them to other banks.
