Works Minister, Robert Morgan, says a re-elected JLP administration will establish a new national road Authority.
The proposal is contained in the JLP’s manifesto, which was launched on Sunday.
The Minister says in its first phase of existence, the Authority will establish and enforce road construction and maintenance standards of all roads, whether main, municipal, parochial or farm roads.
A recent mapping by the government has identified 27-thousand kilometres of roads.
Morgan says the Authority will be responsible for creating a development plan for all roads across the country.

The JLP is also pledging a new national sidewalk and pedestrian crossing upgrade programme and a comprehensive rehabilitation of gullies.
