MP Ann-Marie Vaz says the PNP Mistaken to Name Outside Candidates in Portland

The People’s National Party, PNP, has made a grave mistake by sending potential candidates to Portland who have no connection to the parish. So says Member of Parliament, MP, for East Portland, Ann-Marie Vaz.

Vaz spoke with Nationwide News during the Jamaica Labour Party’s Area Council One Meeting at Fletcher’s Land Community Centre on Sunday.

Vaz is the first female MP for East Portland, coming to power in 2019 following the murder of then-MP Lynvale Bloomfield. She defeated the PNP’s Damion Crawford in the by-election by 306 votes.

Her ascension ended the JLP’s 30-year political drought in the constituency.

The upcoming polls should see Ann-Marie Vaz being challenged by the PNP’s Isat Buchanan.

She says her third term in office is loading.
