Member of Parliament, MP, for South St. James, the Jamaica Labour Party’s Homer Davis, is moving to dismiss suggestions from People’s National Party, PNP, caretaker for the constituency, Nekeisha Burchell, that he has been underperforming as the constituency’s representative.

On Sunday, Burchell accused him of failing to deliver in key areas, including water supply and infrastructure development.

But, speaking on Nationwide This Morning on Thursday, Davis says her comments don’t reflect the truth.

Homer Davis became MP for the constituency after defeating the PNP’s Dr. Walton Small in the 2020 general election.

The constituency was previously a PNP stronghold under Derrick Kellier, who stood as MP from 1989 until stepping away from representational politics in 2016.

Mr Davis noted that he is proud of the work he’s been able to do to uplift residents in his constituency.

He says he will not be engaging in a verbal tug-of-war with Miss Burchell.
