Dancehall artiste Mr Lexx is expanding his creative horizon beyond music, securing his first acting role in the upcoming film Blood Money while simultaneously preparing new music and setting his sights on a Grammy Award. The entertainer, currently in Atlanta, revealed during an interview on Irie FM’s Music News that filming for the project is scheduled to begin this week, marking a significant new chapter in his career.
According to the “Cook” hitmaker, Blood Money centres on an African man who relocates to the United States, converts to Christianity, and faces intense conflict with relatives who struggle to accept his departure from their traditional African religion. While details about Mr Lexx’s character remain under wraps, the artiste said he is grateful for the opportunity, noting that fans have long encouraged him to pursue acting after seeing his comedic and dramatic video clips posted online over the years.
The dancehall veteran expressed excitement about stepping in front of the camera for the first time, describing the role as something he has wanted to explore for years. The opportunity, he said, feels like a natural progression after countless supporters insisted he had the personality and presence for film.
Meanwhile, the entertainer’s music career continues to move forward. Mr Lexx is gearing up to release a new EP titled Kingston’s Finest on his birthday, May 11, a project he hopes will propel him toward an even bigger milestone. With fresh music on the way and a film debut now on the horizon, the dancehall artiste says his ultimate goal is clear: securing a Grammy win next year.
