MSME Alliance Encouraging Businesses to Use Special Arrears Settlement Programme

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSME, Alliance is appealing to its members to take advantage of the Government’s Special Arrears Settlement Programme.

Under the programme, all interests, penalties and surcharges for late tax filing and late tax payment will be waived once taxpayers settle the principal amount of their outstanding taxes.

The initiative applies to a range of tax categories including corporate income tax, education tax, and general consumption tax.

President of the MSME Alliance, Antoinettte Hamilton, says businesses must not let the opportunity go to waste.

Ms Hamilton says a lack of tax education is the reason many MSMEs have fallen behind.
