4 months ago 32

The 15th edition of Musical Delights on February 9 will be a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Lions Club movement in Jamaica.

The first club in Jamaica was the Kingston Club, which was chartered on February 22, 1965 at a magnificent ceremony in the ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel.

The anniversary will be marked by several events during the year with the concert being the first. The celebratory theme is reflected by the line-up of performers, all of whom have achieved great milestones of their own and are contributing their immense talent to the efforts of the Lions Club of Kingston.

Patrons will be treated to the lyrics of veteran deejay, General Trees, who will take them on a minibus ride around Jamaica and a flight to Negril. There he might run into Johnny Clarke who Moved Outta Babylon and was Left With a Broken Heart.

The vintage segment will include Errol Lee singing rhythm and blues covers, Jasmine Black and Candy Isaacs taking Millie Small up a notch with hits from the 70s and 80s.
