The National MSME Roadshow took place today in Dangriga Town, bringing business support and opportunities closer to entrepreneurs in the south. The initiative was held yesterday and today at the Russell “Chiste” Garcia Auditorium, giving micro, small and medium-sized business owners a chance to access training, information and support to help them strengthen and grow their businesses. Now in its third year, the National MSME Roadshow has been making its way into communities across the country, taking these services directly to entrepreneurs. This year’s roadshow has already made stops in several communities, with Dangriga being the latest stop as the nationwide tour continues. The two-day event featured training sessions and discussions on areas such as business development, financial management and digital marketing, among other tools to help entrepreneurs improve the way they manage and grow their businesses. Love News spoke with Executive Director of the Economic Development Council Secretariat, Carmen Sosa, about the event.
The roadshow also gave local entrepreneurs a chance to showcase and sell their products as part of the Buy Belizean Expo. While the MSME Roadshow is usually held over three days, the Dangriga leg was held over two days this year, with the Buy Belizean Expo incorporated into today’s activities. Training and Facilitation Coordinator, Angelita Staine Henderson, shared what their booth brings to the show.
The National MSME Roadshow now heads to Belize City on August 12, 13 and 15, where local entrepreneurs will have another opportunity to access business support, training and other resources.
