National men’s 800m record holder Navasky Anderson says he’s confident of making the qualifying standard ahead of the August 24 deadline to compete at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan in September.

Anderson clocked 1:45.26 to finish second behind Tyrice Taylor at the JAAA national championships at the National Stadium last Saturday.

Anderson must run 1:45 or faster to book his spot at the World Championships. Anderson told Nationwide Sports he’s already selected a few events where he’ll attempt to get the mark.
