Nearly Ten Pounds of Cocaine Seized in Sandhill Operation

Police in the Belize District have made a significant drug discovery following a targeted operation in Sandhill Village. Authorities report that on Wednesday, February 25, a special operation was carried out in the Maxboro area of Sandhill Village. During the search, officers discovered four parcels of suspected cocaine with a combined weight of approximately four thousand three hundred eighty-five grams, or just under ten pounds.  Police say an additional one hundred and nine grams of cocaine were also found in the same area.  The narcotics were seized and processed as part of an ongoing investigation. Up to news time, police have not indicated whether any arrests have been made in connection with the find.  Authorities say investigations continue as they work to determine the origin and intended destination of the drugs.
