Minister of Labour and Social Security, Pearnel Charles Junior, says the JLP government has done the necessary calculations of the cost associated with its proposal to exempt senior citizens from income tax.
He was speaking on Nationwide at Five on Tuesday.
Prime Minister, Dr. Andrew Holness, announced significant tax breaks for senior citizens at the launch of the JLP’s 2025 General Election Manifesto titled ‘I Choose Jamaica, the Next Chapter’.
But Minister Charles Junior was unable to provide the timeline for implementation or the revenue cost of the proposal when asked by Cliff Hughes.
