New Board of Directors Appointed for Port of Belize Ltd.

The Port of Belize Ltd. (PBL) now has a new Board of Directors.  Back in December 2023, an interim group of directors was appointed when the Government of Belize acquired the Port with Dr. Gilbert Canton as the Chair. With the term for the interim board now expired, seven new directors have been appointed.  Ambassador Lynn Young is the new Chairman, while the directors are Priscilla Banner, Rey Guerrero, Ian Courtenay, Elena Smith, Kevin Castillo and Dinesh Bhojwani.  Meanwhile, Arturo Tux Vasquez holds the post of an ex-officio member on the Board as well as the port’s Chief Executive Officer.  According to a statement from PBL, the new board’s appointment is intended to ensure the “continued advancement of strategic, operational, and financial priorities in alignment with national interests.”
