A new champion will be crowned in the GK ONE/SDF Howard McCatty Community Basketball League following Papine Kings’ 79-73 win over Mico Wasps in the Eastern Division finals at the UWI court, Sunday night.
The kings won the best of three series 2-1.
Alex Levy led the scoring for the Kings with 19 points.
He got support from Tommy McDonald 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Shaquille Allen scored 15 points and 7 rebounds.
The tournament continues tomorrow with game three of the Western division with Edgewater Wolverines facing Caribbean Basketball Academy at the Stadium courts.
The winner will advance to the league finals to meet Papine Kings.
