New Leadership Elected to Head Belize Diabetes Association

The Belize Diabetes Association has a new leadership team following the successful conclusion of its internal elections held over the weekend. The Association held its elections on Saturday, April 25, at the ITVET campus in Belize City. Emerging from that process, Tylon Tillett has been elected President, while Lynette Valerio will serve as Vice President. The Association says all other vacant positions were also filled by members who were present and actively participated in the electoral process.  According to the release, the proceedings were carried out in an orderly and transparent manner. To safeguard the integrity of the vote, three Justices of the Peace were present throughout the exercise, ensuring that all established protocols were followed.  In addition to electing its executive, the Association also endorsed several positions requiring the expertise of doctors and pharmacists, a move aimed at strengthening its capacity to deliver healthcare support and advocacy to the public.  The newly elected leadership will serve a three-year term spanning 2026 to 2029.
