New PowerGen board appointed

Minister of Public Utilities Barry Padarath has appointed a new Board of Directors for the Power Generation Company of Trinidad and Tobago (PowerGen).

The appointments were announced during an installation ceremony attended by Minister in the Ministry of Public Utilities Clyde Elder and Parliamentary Secretary Shivanna Sam.

Jasodra Rampersad will serve as chair, with Nathan Jeremie as deputy chair. Omesh Ramberran and Hardeo Bahall have also been appointed to the board.

Padarath told the new directors they have a critical role in ensuring sound corporate governance, maintaining a reliable electricity supply and preparing PowerGen to meet the country’s evolving energy needs.

He also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to modernising the public utilities sector through strategic leadership, innovation and responsible management of national resources.

The ministry said it expects to work closely with the new board as PowerGen enters its next phase of growth and transformation.
