Preschoolers of Santa Cruz Village, Orange Walk, now have access to a modern learning environment following the official inauguration of a brand-new school. The new facility was officially opened this week after a joint investment by the Belize Social Investment Fund, the Caribbean Development Bank and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology. Designed with early learners in mind, the facility features an open-concept classroom to promote creativity and interactive learning. It also includes child-friendly restrooms, office space, a kitchen area, wheelchair access ramps and a playground, creating a safe and inclusive environment for students and teachers alike. CDB’s Portfolio Manager Elbert Ellis says the new facility represents a transformational investment for the community and will provide young learners with the ideal foundation for their educational journey.
Executive Director of the Belize Social Investment Fund, Carlos Tun, says the preschool reflects what can be achieved through strong partnerships focused on improving the lives of Belizean families and investing in the nation’s future.
The project represents a significant 581,000 BZD investment.
