NEW Zealand Beats Sri Lanka in 2nd ODI

New Zealand crushed Sri Lanka by 133 runs in Hamilton today to surge into an unassailable 2-nil lead in their three match One Day International Series.

Rachin Ravindra 79 and Mark Chapman 62 put on 112 for the second wicket to help steer the Kiwis to 255 for 9 in 37 overs in a rain reduced game.

Daryl Mitchell chipped in with 38 as Maheesh Theekshana starred with the ball for Sri Lanka with 4 for 44 including a hatrick.

In reply Sri Lanka’s top order crashed and burned and could not recover from being down 22 for 4 inside the first five overs and eventually fell for 142 in in the 31st over.

Kamindu Mendis was the standout batter for Sri Lanka with 64 as Will O’Rourke ended with 3 for 31 and Jacob Duffy 2 for 30.
