Newcastle United took a major step towards a spot in the Caribao Cup final after beating Arsenal 2-nil in the first leg of their semi-final tie at the Emirates today.
Red hot striker Alexander Isak gave the Magpies the lead on 38 minutes before Anthony Gordon bagged the second on 51 minutes.
The second leg will be played at St. James’ Park in two weeks.
Meanwhile the first leg of semi-final two between League leaders Liverpool and Tottenham will be played in London tomorrow.
