Samuda Backs Sunshines Girls for CWG Gold

President of the Jamaica Olympic Association, Christopher Samuda, is backing Jamaica’s national senior netball team to win gold at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The Sunshine Girls’ highest finish came at the most recent Commonwealth Games, Birmingham 2022, where they reached their first final, before losing out on gold to Australia 51-55.

In the prior two Commonwealth Games prior, Gold Coast 2018 and Glasgow 2014, Jamaica finished third taking home the bronze medal.

They also won bronze at the 2002 Games in Manchester.

Samuda says after beating England 3-2 in a six match home and away series and sweeping South Africa 3-0 at home he’s convince Jamaica is on the right trajectory to win gold at a global meet.
