NFL MVP Josh Allen Agrees US$330 Million Extension

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has agreed a new contract extension until 2030 worth up to a reported record US$330 million, that will make him one of the highest-paid players in NFL history.

Allen, the NFL’s Most Valuable Player for the 2024 season, will receive a guaranteed US$250 million.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes signed a 10-year deal in 2020 worth US$450 million. But the US$250 million Allen will receive is the largest guaranteed figure paid to any NFL player in the history of the sport, eclipsing the US$231 million guaranteed to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Allen’s new deal comes after the 28-year-old was named the league’s MVP for the first time after leading the Bills to the AFC Championship game, where they lost to the Chiefs.

Last season, Allen totalled 41 touchdowns – 28 passing, 12 rushing, one receiving – as the Bills scored 30-plus points in 12 games in 2024, tied for the second-most games with 30-plus points by a team in a season in NFL history.

Allen will receive an average of US$55 million per season under his new contract.

Only the Cowboys’ Prescott, who earns an average US$60 million a season, is paid more.
