In our continued coverage of yesterday’s Senate sitting on the Gaming and Lotteries Control Bill 2025, several other senators contributed to the discussion. For the Senator representing the network of NGOs, Janelle Chanona, she echoed the need for audits as was expressed by Senator Kevin Herrera yesterday. Additionally, she spoke on the need for improved oversight.
Senator for the Churches opened his contribution by making it clear that he would not be supporting the Bill. He cited the lack of consultations on the bill, among other concerns over elements in the bill and the lack of proper regulation. Senator Pastor Louis Wade Junior harped on the issue of gambling addictions.
Yesterday’s Senate debate went until eight thirty last night.
