9-year-old Evandey Martinez tragically lost her life in Belize City. The incident occurred on October 11, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Smith told us more.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Smith: “ At approximately 9.40 p.m., police received information of an unresponsive minor who apparently had passed out at a residence at the corner of Linda Vista Street and Police Street, Belize City. The minor, whose name was learnt to be Evandey Martinez, nine years of age, was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where attempts were made to resuscitate him. Those attempts proved futile. And as a consequence of this, investigation is being conducted into the death of Evandey Martinez. What we have learned so far is that, the young Mr. Martinez had a history of asthma, however, no other known medical condition. A post-Martin examination is scheduled to be conducted to establish the cause of death.”
Earlier that evening before Evandey collapsed, she had reportedly been complaining of headaches, back pain, and that she had difficulty breathing. Allen informed police that her daughter had suffered from asthma since birth but had no known additional medical conditions.
