Opposition Leader Mark Golding’s highest job approval rating is in the parishes of Portland and St. Catherine. That’s according to the latest Nationwide/Bluedot polls, powered by Total Tools.
In Portland, Golding enjoys net positive rating of 8 per cent, while in St. Catherine that net positive rating stands at 6 per cent.
Those are the only parishes where Golding has a net positive rating. In all other parishes, the Opposition Leader has a stronger negative than positive rating.
In fact, in St. Thomas his net negative rating his 20 per cent. That’s the highest in any parish.
Thirty-seven per cent of voters in the eastern parish say Golding has been a poor opposition leader. Only 17 per cent say he’s been good at the job.
In Westmoreland, Golding’s net negative job approval rating is 19 per cent. Only 19 per cent of voters in the parish believe he’s doing a good job; 38-percent say he’s doing a poor job.
It’s a similar story in St. Elizabeth. Forty-two per cent of voters there say Golding has done a poor job; 23 per cent say he’s been good at his job. That’s a net negative rating of 19 per cent.
The opposition’s lowest net negative rating is in St. Mary and Kingston and St. Andrew, where it stands at 3 per cent.
Thirty-one per cent of voters in Kingston and St. Andrew say he’s done a poor job, against 28 per cent who say he’s been a good opposition leader.
In St. Mary, it’s 32 per cent poor, against 30 per cent good.
