Voters in St. Thomas have the highest level of trust inPrime Minister Dr Andrew Holness. That’s according to the latest Nationwide/Bluedot polls, powered by Total Tools.
Fifty-seven per cent of voters in the eastern parish say they trust Dr. Holness. The significant mark of trust comes amid public fanfare regarding the long awaited Morant Bay Urban Centre.
Thirty-seven per cent of voters in St. Thomas say they do not trust Holness.
A majority of voters in Clarendon also say they trust Dr. Holness, with 56 per cent saying yes. Thirty-five per cent said no.
In Hanover, 54 per cent of voters expressed trust in Dr. Holness, while 33 per cent say they distrust him.
Nearly half the voters in St. Elizabeth, 49 per cent, say Dr. Holness has their trust.
Voters across Kingston and St. Andrew were also more likely to distrust Dr. Holness than trust him, 47 per cent to 43 per cent.
A warning sign emerges for the prime minister in Manchester, where a majority of voters, 51 per cent say they do not trust him. That’s the highest level of distrust recorded in the polls.
The opposition People’s National Party is hoping to sweep all four constituencies in the central parish at the next general election.
It’s to be seen whether these numbers will have any effect on that effort.
