President of the Jamaica Olympic Association, JOA, Christopher Samuda, says there’ll be no honeymoon period for Zimbabwe’s sports minister, Kirsty Coventry, as she takes control of the International Olympic Committee, IOC.
Coventry was elected as the first female president of the IOC, on Thursday.
She secured an absolute majority of 49 of the 97 votes available in the first round of voting.
Samuda says the 2028 Olympics will be the biggest test of her abilities.

Meanwhile, boxing will remain an Olympic sport after the IOC voted unanimously for it to be included in the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.
