New York is set to host Dancehall entertainer Flippa Moggela’s first major event of 2026 with the staging of an upscale daytime party titled Essence. The event is scheduled for Sunday, March 8, running from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and is being presented under the Flippmoney Records banner.
After teasing the concept towards the end of 2025, Flippa returned on Saturday, January 4 to formally unveil the line-up of DJs booked to provide entertainment. The reveal was made via an Instagram post featuring the official flyer, accompanied by the caption, “This is the Beginning Of Spring Clean Thing!!!!”.
The selectors confirmed for the event are Nowa Powa and DJ Polish, Shukkle Bus, ZJ Liquid, Taj and Chad Boogie, along with Biggs Ravas.
According to details shared on the flyer, ticket prices are structured in tiers, starting at US$50 for early sales, increasing to US$60 during January, and rising to US$70 between February 1 and February 28. Higher prices are expected at the door/gate on the day of the event.
While finalising plans for Essence, Flippa Moggela has also been actively promoting his latest musical project, The Mix Feelings Riddim. The compilation features eight tracks from a range of Dancehall acts, including Flippa’s own collaboration with Chronic Law on ‘Be Like This’.
Other contributors to the project include Jahmiel with ‘Don’t Miss Now’, Skilli-Bangs on ‘Turn’, Nhance with ‘Rich Lifestyle’, Alfray’s ‘Teardrops’, Tishane’s ‘Proud’, Chekx’s ‘Baby’, and ‘Love My Ladies’ by Jay Island. The riddim is currently available across all major streaming platforms.
