The National Trade Union Congress of Belize (NTUCB) has been quiet in recent weeks despite the challenges faced by its unions. This week, the umbrella organization, however, is looking to launch several activities in solidarity with the joint unions and other union affiliates. Come Thursday, the NTUCB is planning a press conference where each union leader would ventilate concerns on specific issues of national concern. The venue for the presser is yet to be confirmed. Also, on its schedule for this week, there is the holding of public meetings in each branch area across the country. Love News understands that the plan is to use the public meetings platform to sensitize the public to the concerns of the unions and the current fight for salary increases. According to the NTUCB, there is also the plan for a solidarity march in Belize City which the unions will be voting on to confirm a date. For the march, the umbrella union is calling on every union to take part. Our newsroom will follow these events, and report on them accordingly.
