Nude body found at Cocal Estate

The nude body of an unidentified man of mixed descent was discovered by workers at Cocal Estate, Manzanilla, on Monday.

Reports indicate that workers were collecting dry coconuts when they came upon the body and alerted the estate manager who immediately contacted the Manzanilla Police Station.

Officers responded and were directed to the scene by workers. Officers found the man lying nude on the grass with injuries to his head.

The victim has not yet been identified. Police are appealing to members of the public with missing relatives to contact the Manzanilla Police Station at 668-2062.

The estate manager also told police that he had seen a green wagon parked along Manzanilla Road on Saturday. He said that when he returned to the estate on Sunday, the vehicle had been completely burnt.

Police were informed and responded, removing the vehicle to the Manzanilla Police Station as investigations continue.

Homicide officers are continuing investigations into the discovery and whether the burnt vehicle may be connected to the case.
