Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent again broke the 100-metre hurdles national record she set inside the National Stadium in July, lowering her 12.28-second mark to 12.24.

Nugent achieved the feat at the Wanda Diamond League Golden Gala inside Rome's Stadio Olimpico, breaking the meet record of Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, that 12.37 done in 2022.

The Jamaican was also getting the better of Olympic champion, the United States’ Masai Russell, who was second in 12.31 seconds.

Russell previously held the world lead at 12.25.

The Netherlands’ Nadine Visser was third in 12.52, while France’s Cyréna Samba-Mayela was fourth in 12.57.

World indoor champion, the Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton failed to finish the stacked race, where former world record holder, the United States’ Kendra Harrison could only manage sixth in 12.70.

Charlton hit a couple of hurdles and was forced to abort.
